Update: het ontging Abdul Haq, die mij ook bovenstaande tekst aanreikte, niet dat het de Nederlandse boodschappers der slaapt-u-vooral-door-consensus volkomen ontging dat er iets gaande is in de Verenigde Staten. Terwijl de voorverkiezingen en de zogeheten “strijd” tussen Obama en Clinton tot een mate van hysterie in de Nederlandse massamedia leidden die werkelijk onbegrijpelijk is, vond de naam van impeacher en presidentskandidaat Dennis Kucinich zeer sporadisch zijn weg in de krant, evenals die van andere kandidaten die nog iets verfrissends te melden hadden, zoals Ron Paul. De mooie ogen van Barack Obama zullen de ultra-kritische beschouwers van de slijpstenen der geest wel verblind hebben zodat ze helemaal vergaten zich af te vragen wanneer deze vogel nog eens iets inhoudelijks gaat zeggen.

Lieve kwaliteitskranten, zullen wij gewoon maar stoppen met u lastig vallen? Belooft u dan dat u uiteindelijk zelf de weg van de trekschuit zult kiezen?

“Groots welkom voor moordenaar”, is de kop die Trouw meegeeft aan een stukje over een ruil van Israëlische en Libanese lijken en gevangenen. Was dat ook het kopje dat Trouw plaatste boven het artikel over G.W. Bush die de Paus bezocht in 2007?

Voor de goede orde, een moordenaar is een moordenaar. Samir Kuntar heeft een grote misdaad begaan (overigens heeft hij de moord op het kind altijd ontkend) en een feestelijk onthaal laat dan, op zijn minst, een wrange smaak achter. Daar komt bij dat Kuntar ten tijde van de moorden minderjarig was, en als zodanig in veel landen geen levenslang zou hebben gekregen - een straf waarvan hij dus bijna 30 jaar heeft uitgezeten.

Wat Trouw voor het gemak ook maar even onvermeld laat is de staat van dienst van de overige vier gevangenen. Wat hebben zij misdaan? Blijkbaar niet veel dat het vermelden waard is, anders was het zeker uitgebreid aan de orde gekomen. Verdienen die mensen bij hun vrijlating geen feestje - als hun enige “misdaad” eruit bestaat zich te verzetten tegen de Israëlische bezetting van hun land?

Trouw laat wel meer context achterwege. Het bevestigt weer eens het feit dat wat er niet in de krant staat vaak belangrijker is dan wat er wel in staat. Het is Israël dat Libanon binnenviel, alweer bijna drie decennia geleden, niet andersom. De rampzalige gevolgen daarvan zijn tot op de dag van vandaag te merken.

De twee werden in 2006 ontvoerd door Hezbollah. Het leidde tot een oorlog die een maand duurde, maar waarin Israël er niet in slaagde de sjiitische militie op de knieën te krijgen.

De schrijver van dit stukje kan toch niet serieus menen dat de ontvoering van Regev en Goldwasser tot de oorlog in 2006 leidde? Kent deze journalist het verschil tussen een excuus en een motief?

Vooruit dan, speciaal voor Trouw nog eens dit fragment met George Galloway - dat inmiddels welhaast een legendarische status geniet:

Update: als ik dat zo lees heb ik dat, in mijn pure verbijstering over zoveel geschiedvervalsing, nog veel te mild uitgedrukt. Leest u vooral ook deze, deze en deze bijdragen van Stan van Houcke - een journalist die niet ideologisch verminkt is geraakt door haat jegens Arabieren, zoals helaas zo veel anderen die zich journalisten durven noemen.

Het lijkt er sterk op dat de journalistiek een voorgekookt verhaaltje van de hasbara heeft voorgezet gekregen. Dames en heren, u wordt niet betaald door de Israëlische ambassade, u wordt betaald door uw kijkers en lezers die graag willen weten hoe de zaken er echt voorstaan.

Eens kijken: een bloeddorstige kindermoordenaar die dan toch 29 jaar gezeten heeft. In de meeste landen is zo iemand al eerder vrijgelaten.

Aan de Israelische kant zijn geen kindermoordenaars, impliceert Valk. Palestijnse en Libanese kinderen sneuvelen - zijn dus combattanten in zijn opvatting.

Het schokkendste vind ik eigenlijk dat dit soort berichtgeving zo gewoon en vanzelfsprekend overkomt. Er zijn twee mensen, die hebben een naam. En er zijn honderden onmensen zonder naam, en een Heel Erg Onmens die als zodanig dan weer wel een naam meekrijgt. Honderd dode en 2,5 levende Arabieren zijn 1 dode joodse Israeli waard.

Mocht een Libanese televisiepresentator zijn tranen niet kunnen bedwingen - maar zouden we dat toch al ongelooflijke detail te horen krijgen? - dan is het toneelspel. Ook dat weten we al bij voorbaat.

Daar kun je wel vanuit gaan.

Zowel contacten van deze blog in Pakistan als de BBC melden dat de Verenigde Staten luchtaanvallen uitvoeren in Noord-Pakistan.

De Amerikanen hebben bij Pakistan een vliegdekschip gestationeerd.

Volgens minder duidelijke berichten zou India van de andere kant ook aanvallen hebben uitgevoerd, maar deze berichten kunnen op dit moment nog niet worden bevestigd.

In 2001 werd de false flag operatie van de aanslagen op de Twin Towers en het Pentagon (zie hiervoor http://911research.wtc7.net/) aangegrepen om binnen zeer korte tijd Afghanistan en later Irak aan te vallen. Voor beide oorlogen bestaat geen juridische grond. Nu warmt het Witte Huis het publiek op voor een volgende false flag operatie, waarbij dan mogelijk krachten in Pakistan als schuldigen zullen worden aangewezen.

US fears Al Qaeda attack next year

WASHINGTON, June 30: The White House warned on Monday that Al Qaeda could launch a major attack on the United States in 2009, endorsing a similar warning by an independent senator Joe Lieberman.

The warnings coincide with media reports that top Bush administration officials drafted a secret plan late last year to enable US forces to operate inside Fata, but Washington turf battles and the diversion of resources to Iraq have held up the effort.

At a White House briefing, press secretary Dana Perino did not confirm or deny the reports – saying that she could not “comment either way” – but she assured US citizens that the Bush administration had never allowed a “let up” in the search for Osama bin Laden and other Al Qaeda leaders.

Ms Perino, however, did not hesitate to confirm Mr Lieberman’s fears. “Unfortunately, he could be right,” she said. “We know there are people who are very dangerous and are trying to do that.”

Mr Lieberman, who was a vice-presidential candidate in 2004, said in a television interview on Sunday that history shows the United States would likely face a terrorist attack in 2009.

“Our enemies will test the new president early,” he said. “Remember that the truck bombing of the World Trade Centre happened in the first year of the Clinton administration. 9/11 happened in the first year of the Bush administration.”

At the White House, Ms Perino noted that the people who were planning to attack the United States were “very dangerous and very secretive,” and operated from “a very dangerous terrain, hiding in caves.”

Explaining President Bush’s strategy for dealing with this threat, she said the president was clear that “whenever we can we will take action” against such people. “We will not wait.”

She said that people hiding in this “dangerous terrain” were “plotting to kill innocent people not just in the US but in other countries as well, even Muslims like in Iraq.”

De Verenigde Staten, zich zoals bekend overal ter wereld immer inzettend voor democratie en mensenrechten, steunen het autocratisch bewind van Pervez Musharraf. De Pakistaanse inlichtingendienst ISI was een direct betrokken partij bij de aanslagen op 11 september. De generaal die een ton overmaakte naar Mohammed Atta lunchte op de ochtend van 11 september 2001 met enkele sleutelfiguren in Washington.

In response to a Freedom of Information Act Request submitted by Kevin Ryan, Mick Harrison and Paul Smith, the government has disclosed documents confirming that Pakistani ISI General Ahmed - the guy who wired $100,000 to lead hijacker Atta — met with a "Senior Representative from the Joint Chiefs of Staff", Centcom Commander General Tommy Franks, the Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, Wolfowitz, Feith, other PNAC members, and probably Intelligence Committee members Graham and Goss, and others in the week before 9/11.

De BBC meldt als motief voor de aanvallen op Pakistaans grondgebied:

American military officials are alarmed by Pakistan’s strategy of pursuing peace deals with pro-Taleban tribesmen near the Afghan border.

Last week top US military officer Admiral Mike Mullen said this increased the flow of militants into Afghanistan to combat Nato troops.

He also said the peace process allowed more foreign fighters to operate in the region, reflecting American concerns that al-Qaeda is regrouping in the tribal areas and plotting its next 9/11-style attack against the United States.

Such public criticism has fuelled speculation that the Americans will take matters into their own hands.

According to numerous reports, earlier this year the Americans did have permission from Pakistan for limited air strikes against al-Qaeda targets. But the new government elected in February asked them to stop, because these hits roused anger and led to revenge attacks.

Het “gevaar” is dus peace deals met mensen die het kunnen vinden met de Taliban - een groep mensen die de VS altijd goed gezind was, totdat ze uit de pas gingen lopen, door o.a. het vernietigen van de papavervelden van Afghanistan (de CIA is een van de grootste drugssmokkel- en drugsgeldwitwasorganisaties ter wereld) en “ongehoorzaamheid” aan de VS op het gebied van gaspijpleidingen.
